Hey Mets fans!
Welcome to Up Along First! My name is Connor and I’m a passionate 16 year-old Mets fan and the writer/creator of UpAlongFirst.com.
I’ve been blogging about the Mets since 2009. I wrote on and off for about two years on my old site, MetsNews.net, before moving to this web site. Let me tell you a little more about me and my love for the Mets.
I went to my first Met game in 1999. At my first game, Mike Piazza hit a home run. He immediately became my favorite player. He is still my favorite Met ever.
I’ve been to some of the more exciting Mets games over the past ten years. I went to Shea in October of 2006 and saw game 1 of the NLDS and game 2 of the NLCS. Playoff baseball… wow. The Mets won game 1 of the NLDS, but lost game two of the next series against the Cardinals. I had World Series tickets for that year, too. But sadly, I never got to use them.
Here’s a little more about me:
My favorite current Met is Johan Santana… my favorite foods are pizza, anything with shrimp, and anything with vodka sauce (just not together)… I like the Beatles, Green Day, and Kanye West… “The Office,” “Parks and Recreation, and “Family Guy” are my favorite TV Shows… I have a couple cats, dogs, and horses… I like to run…
Well, there you go. That’s all for right now. As the site develops, I willl have more stories to tell and I’ll update this page if need be.
Welcome to the blog,
Connor O’Brien
Let’s go Mets!
