The Mets announced this afternoon that Lucas Duda underwent surgery yesterday to repair a fractured right wrist. Duda suffered the injury last month while moving furniture in his Southern California apartment.
The procedure was performed at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City by Mets team doctor Andrew Weiland.
The 26 year-old Duda had a .236/.329/.398 batting line in 121 games this season. He is expected to be ready to play in time for Spring Training next February.
The only thing I can really say about the injury is this: hey, at least this happened in November and not January.
