Here are some notes from throughout the farm system:
- The Mets announced today that they have placed Kirk Nieuwenhuis on the Triple-A DL after tearing his plantar fascia in his foot. Nieuwenhuis was recently demoted to Buffalo after hitting .252 in 91 games with the Mets this season.
- In the place of Nieuwenhuis on the Buffalo roster will be C.J. Nitkowski. Nitkowski was recently signed by the Mets and is attempting to pitch in the majors for the first time since 2005.
- Zack Wheeler‘s Triple-A debut is currently in progress. However, it will be shown tonight at 7 p.m. on SNY.
