I'm a 16 year-old blogger, high school student, and lifelong Mets fan. I've been blogging about the Mets in some form or another for about four years. I embrace the new age, sabermetric way of thinking, but also recognize the importance of scouting and player devlopment.

As much as I want Bay gone, I think I would rather stick it out than do this trade. When Bell was first with the Mets he was a 6-7th inning guy and was not good at all. If you look at his Mets years and Miami, they are very close to each other:

When he got traded we said a lot of bad things towards the Mets and definitely had a “chip on his shoulder” about how he was treated. It was 6 years ago now so I imagine or hope that he is over it, but I just don’t see him as a fit.

As for Buck I just don’t think he will be better than he is. Is he better than Nickeas or Johnson, hell yea. I just wouldn;t want it to be a road block of possible getting someone better that maybe can push Thole into a backup role.

And you are totally right, Bay is done. Lets see what happens in the waiver period and see if any team wants to take a chance. If not, give him the boot.
