Game 100: Despite Three Home Runs By Davis, Mets Fall To D-Backs 6-3

  • Sharebar

Final Score:

Player Of The Game: Ike Davis- 4-for-4, 3 home runs

Goat Of The Game: Chris Young- 4 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO, 68 pitches (45 strikes)

Notes:

  • Chris Young… yikes! Young has been so consistent, allowing more than three runs only once this season, but tonight was just bad.
  • Ike Davis hit three home runs. I’m not really sure what to think of this because his batting average is still very low… He is now the ninth player in Mets history to hit three home runs in a single game.
  • Ramon Ramirez pitched two solid relief innings for the Mets tonight. Manny Acosta was also decent.
  • Ruben Tejada had a nice game as well. He was 2-for-5 with a walk.
  • This is a tough loss to swallow. The Mets really needed to take three of four from Arizona. Hopefully they can take the fourth game tomorrow and head out to San Francisco with some momentum.
