The Mets made more changes to their active roster today, recalling Ruben Tejada and Ramon Ramirez from Triple-A Buffalo for tonight’s game against the Yankees. Jordany Valdespin was optioned back to Triple-A Buffalo to make room on the roster.
Tejada had a slash line of .305/.362/.400 in 27 games with the Mets this season. In 29 minor league at-bats between St. Lucie and Buffalo, he hit .200. Ramirez only got to pitch 2.2 innings between Single-A and Triple-A before getting the call. The Mets seemed to rush him because of Frank Francisco‘s oblique injury. Ramirez allowed nine hits and six runs in his 2.2 minor league innings.
The Mets need to make one more move before tonight’s game. They currently have 26 players on their roster. Right now, it seems it’s either going to be Vinny Rottino, Omar Quintanilla, or Ronny Cedeno who gets sent down.
Updates will come when available.
