This is the day!

The day is finally here. The day where winter turns to spring for baseball fans around the country. The day where  the losing and horrors of seasons past are masked by the smell of freshly-cut grass and sound of fungo bats hitting ground balls to infielders. The day where drills and countless stretching routines begin and the talk of doom and gloom subsides. This is the first day of spring training.

Over the past weeks and months, doubters (and many fans, too) have counted the Mets out. Today, the reporting date for pitchers and catchers, is a day that we should all celebrate. Celebrate the rich history of baseball. Today brings a glimmer of hope to all baseball fans, including us Mets fans. Don’t listen to the naysayers.Just remember one phrase: Ya Gotta believe!

About Connor O'Brien
I'm a 17 year-old blogger, high school student, and lifelong Mets fan. I've been blogging about the Mets in some form or another for about four years. I embrace the new age, sabermetric way of thinking, but also recognize the importance of scouting and player devlopment.
