Talking points:

  • The Mets lost last night 9-3 in Florida. Chris Capuano was awful, giving up six earned runs on eight hits in just four innings of work. Jason Bay had a big night, hitting a home run, and going 2-4.
  • Ike Davis may avoid surgery, after working out in Florida over the past few days, saying he was pain free. He will be shut down shortly to rest and recover.

My take:

  • Last night’s loss: Capuano has really struggled of late, and this was just another one of those games. He is 3-5 with a 5.08 ERA since July 1. Not only did he have a bad night, but the offense did, too. The Mets scratched off ten hits (two belonging to Jason Bay), but couldn’t get the job done, Just disappointing…
  • Davis: Personally, I think he should have the surgery. It just seems like the safest option. With the surgery, Davis may be out longer, but if you really want the injury gone, it may be the best choice. I’m no doctor, so I think I’ll trust the Mets doctors.

I'm a 17 year-old blogger, high school student, and lifelong Mets fan. I've been blogging about the Mets in some form or another for about four years. I embrace the new age, sabermetric way of thinking, but also recognize the importance of scouting and player devlopment.
