Here is this afternoon’s Met lineup:
Jose Reyes SSRuben Tejada SS (Reyes is fine, he’s just getting a day off)- Justin Turner 2B
- Lucas Duda RF
- David Wright 3B
- Angel Pagan CF
- Jason Bay LF
- Josh Satin 1B
- Mike Nickeas C
- Mike Pelfrey RHP
vs. Livan Hernandez
Talking points:
- The Mets lost last night 8-7 in D.C. They were beating the Nationals 7-6 going into the ninth, but Bobby Parnell allowed Washington to rally and allowed the walk-off single to right field just out of the reach of Lucas Duda.
- Mike Piazza turns 42 today. He hit .296 with 220 home runs as a Met in parts of eight seasons.
My take:
- Last night’s loss: The only positive part thing I got from this game was the offense coming back. Gee was awful. Parnell couldn’t shut the door. Just not a great game.
- Mike Piazza‘s birthday: Happy birthday to the future hall of famer!
