Here is tonight’s Met lineup at Citi Field versus the Brewers:

  1. Angel Pagan CF
  2. Willie Harris 2B
  3. David Wright 3B
  4. Lucas Duda 1B
  5. Mike Baxter RF
  6. Jason Pridie LF
  7. Josh Thole C
  8. Ruben Tejada SS
  9. Mike Pelfrey RHP (6-9, 4.58)

vs. Shaun Marcum (10-3, 3.50)

Tonight’s talking points:

  • Jason Bay is sitting tonight after failing to get a hit in his last 20 at-bats.
  • Brandon Nimmo made his pro debut today for the GCL Mets. He went 1-6 and scored a run. He chose to wear number 17, which may be retired by the time he comes uo for the legendary Jose Lima, I mean Kieth Hernandez.
  • Matt Harvey is tearing it up in Double-A Bingamton. He hasn’t allowed more than three runs in a game in his last six starts.

My Take:

  • Bay: Ugh
  • Nimmo: It’s his first game. I mean, there isn’t much to say other than good luck Brandon. It’s great that he’s getting early playing time like this. Matt Harvey didn’t pitch at all the summer he was drafter. He went fishing with his dad and made a visit or two to Citi Field.
  • Harvey: Speaking of Harvey, it’s great to see him pitch well. The next big task for him will be pitching in the big leagues. Next year maybe…
