Here is tonight’s Met lineup:
- Angel Pagan CF
- Willie Harris 2B
- David Wright 3B
- Lucas Duda 1B
- Jason Bay LF
- Jason Pridie RF
- Josh Thole C
- Ruben Tejada SS
- Dillon Gee RHP (10-4, 4.07)
vs. Mat Latos (6-11, 3.80)
Talking points:
- According to Andy McCullough via Twitter, Terry Collins said a return for Jose Reyes may come as soon as his DL stint ends.
- Fernando Martinez landed on the DL once again, this time with a left wrist strain.
- The Mets lost last night 6-1 in San Diego. Jonathon Niese got roughed up a little bit, allowing ten hits, but held the Padres to just three runs in six innings.
My take:
- Reyes: Don’t rush him. Even with him playing, the Mets probably aren’t going to make a playoff run (although, you never know) and getting him healthy along with Ike Davis and Johan Santana should be a priority.
- F-Mart- Ugh. He is just a mess. There’s not much more I can say.
- Niese, Loss: Just tough luck. Niese is going to be very good some day. He just has to work on a few things.
