Here is this afternoon’s Met lineup against the Braves:

1. Jose Reyes SS

2. Justin Turner 2B

3. David Wright 3B

4. Scott Hairston RF

5. Jason Bay LF

6. Angel Pagan CF

7. Ronny Paulino C

8. Nick Evans 1B

9. Dillon Gee RHP (10-3, 3.69)

vs. Mike Minor LHP (1-2, 4.59)

Braves lineup:

Notes:

Gee was supposed to start Wednesday, but had his start pushed back to today due to rain. He is 2-0 with a 0.54 ERA against the Braves in three starts this season.

Minor, one of the Atlanta’s top pitching prospects, is making a start in the place on injured ace Jair Jurrjens. Minor is 1-0 in two career starts against the Mets.

Needs to step up: Dillon Gee

Gee has pitched well almost the entire season, but needs to step up and beat the Braves today. This is a huge game, one that will either put the Mets six games back in the loss column, the one that really matters, or eight games back in the loss column. If Gee pitches a great game today, he could energize the team and propel them back into contention.

About Connor O'Brien
I'm a 16 year-old blogger, high school student, and lifelong Mets fan. I've been blogging about the Mets in some form or another for about four years. I embrace the new age, sabermetric way of thinking, but also recognize the importance of scouting and player devlopment.
