According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, four more Mets have reportedly cleared waivers. Yesterday, Buster Olney reportesd that Chris Capuano has cleared waivers. Now, Jason Bay, Angel Pagan, Willie Harris, and D.J. Carrasco have now cleared them too. Pagan and Carrasco could definitely be traded. Pagan could get some value on the open market, and Capuano could also be traded, even though I said earlier that he should not be traded. There is almost no way anyone will take Jason Bay because of his huge contract. Harris probably won’t be dealt either. He provides veteran leadership and versatility.
Teams tend to put players on waivers just for he sake of doing it, and so they can have some flexibility if they need to make a deal.
