The Mets were swept today in Queens by the Brewers.

The Brewers finished off a three-game sweep of the New York Mets in Queens today, their first against the Mets this season. Ace Yovani Gallardo shut down the Mets, throwing seven innings of two-run baseball. His counterpart, R.A. Dickey, matched Gallardo’s stellar performance, also throwing seven innings and allowing two runs. Lucas Duda hit a home run in the seventh to tie the game at two, but the Met offense still looked shaky again today. The Met bullpen couldn’t keep the game close, and once again blew the game open for the Mets. Manny Acosta allowed two runs (one earned) in relief, without recording an out. Jason Isringhausen and Pedro Beato allowed a run apiece in the ninth to give the Brewers the game 6-2.

I'm a 17 year-old blogger, high school student, and lifelong Mets fan. I've been blogging about the Mets in some form or another for about four years. I embrace the new age, sabermetric way of thinking, but also recognize the importance of scouting and player devlopment.
