According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Phillies have acquired All-Star outfielder Hunter Pance from the Astros in exchange for Philadelphia minor leaguers Jarred Cosart, Jonathan Singleton, and Josh Zeild, plus a PTBNL.
Pence is hitting .309 this season with 11 home runs and 62 RBI. He has been a consistent, middle of the order player since he came up as a rookie in 2007. Pence is just 28, and will be under Philly control for this year and the next. It seems likely that he will be inserted into the fifth spot in the lineup.
The bright side is he has a career .221 batting average against the Mets in 32 games played and only .147 in nine career games at Citi Field
