Notes: Behind Mike Stanton’s great 2 home run performance, the Marlins pounded Carlos Zambrano, scoring eight runs off him in just 4.2 innings. Javier Vazquez was solid for the Marlins, piching seven quality innings on the way to his sixth win of the year.

Nationals 5, Braves 2

Notes: The day belonged to John Lannan down in Atlanta. Not only did he pitch himself to his sixth win of the year, but he also had two hits and two RBI. What a night! Alex Gonzalez hit a home run in the second for the Braves, but it wasn’t enough. The Nationals led the entire game and are now at .500.
