News: Nats acquire Gomes

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Nationals have acquired Johnny Gomes and cash from the Reds in exchange for two minor leaguers. Gomes, a 30 year-old outfielder is hitting just .211 this season, but had a career season last year, hitting 18 home runs and driving in 86. Gomes has a .192 career batting average against the Mets in seven games. He has $1.75 million left this season and is a free agent at the end of the year. Both teams have confirmed the trade.
