Morning Reaction: Mets lose to Giants 3-1

Last night, the Giants beat the Mets 3-1.

Notable performances:

  • Chris Capuano- (L, 8-8) 6 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 5 SO, 105 pitches, 62 strikes
  • Daniel Murphy- 1-4, 2B, RBI
  • Carlos Beltran- 1-2, 2 BB, R

Notes: Despite having arguably the worst season of his career, Tim Lincecum shut down the Mets last night, tossing six innings, allowing just one run on four hits and four walks. The Giants bullpen shut down the Mets for the next three innings, holding the Mets hitless and only one walk. Capuano also pitched well, allowing two runs in the first inning, but then settling down and not allowing a run for the rest of his outing. bobby Parnell came in after Capuano and let the Giants score once more, to put them up 3-1.
