On the pitching side, Jon Niese was fantastic, allowing just one earned run over seven innings. Ruben Tejada had two errors, which cost Niese an unearned run. 66% of his pitches were strikes, and he worked efficiently, walking just one batter. Bobby Parnell came in for the eighth and shut down the Phillies, striking out two. Finally, Manny Acosta closed out the blowout with a scoreless ninth.
